General Questions

If it’s a Desktop, just bring in your tower and the password for it if any. We don’t need power cords, keyboard, mice, etc.

If it’s a Laptop, bring it with your charger and the password.

If you have them, also bring any CD’s or DVD’s that came with your computer, this will help if we end up having to do a system restore.

This depends on what you will be using the computer for most. Some users will purchase a computer strictly to play games onit, others will edit videos, and some will just want to surf the web and do email. We don’t sell hardware, but, depending on your needs, Computer Guys of Orange County will guide you in which computer to purchase.
It is usually almost always cheaper to upgrade an existing system instead of purchasing a new one. However, sometimes it may not be cost effective to upgrade an older machine because the technology changes so fast.
All CGofOC Repair Services are guaranteed. We strive for 100% customer satisfaction.

Hardware is covered for 30 days by us for parts and labor. After that by the manufactures warranty is usually one year but does not cover the labor. We will take care of the labor on any defective replacement part for free for up to 3 months .

Virus removals are a little different, if the same virus returns within 7 days we will remove it again at no charge or do a complete system wipe and restore for an additional $20 as long as you didn’t get it re-infected by visiting the same site or clicking on the same email. Of course we can not guarantee that you’ll never get another virus just because we cleaned it once, not even the Anti-Virus software companies can guarantee that, but we will take care of it if it returns in a few days.

We service all makes and models. We also service custom and generic (off brand) PC’s.

Yes. We guarantee the work that was performed as shown on our invoices.

If we install a new hardware item, the installation and component are warranted to be free of defects for 30 days. Most parts we install do carry longer warranties also. Examples of warranty situations: If your hard drive was working when you brought your machine to us for an installation of a new modem, but quits ten days after you picked up your computer, your hard drive is not covered by our warranty. If we install an anti-virus application, update the application, and run a full system scan; the system is guaranteed to be virus free when it leaves the shop. If you fail to keep your virus definitions updated regularly and your system becomes infected with a virus, the subsequent infection is not covered by our warranty. If we re-format your hard drive and re-install the operating system, we guarantee the installation. Following installation, if you delete a critical system file or install new software that corrupts your operating system, the warranty is void. We guarantee our work. We do not provide a guarantee that your computer will remain healthy indefinitely.
